Celebrating Newhaven – Exhibition

This posting is not my own, but I found it on John’s site and thought I ought to publicise it too …

Do you remember picnics, outings, pageants and galas from the past?

Maybe you remember the Royal Celebrations of 1930s or the Coronation in 1953?

Maybe you were at the Victoria School Centenary in 1944 or at one of the more recent Galas which took place since 1984?

‘Celebrating Newhaven’ is an exhibition of photographs from the archive at the Museum of Edinburgh and it shows some of the celebrations which have taken place in Newhaven through the years.

You can see the exhibition at Newhaven Church from 31 May – 27 June and Leith Library from 28 June – 26 July.

The exhibition is open to the public by pre-arranged visit. Please contact the school for opening times on 0131 476 7306. You can find the school at: 4-6 Newhaven Main Street, Edinburgh. EH6 4HY.
